“Promise of Peace”
Isaiah 26:3 (ESV) You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
I. NOTICE THE PERSONALITY OF PEACE:
A-God’s Peace is Perfect In Its Character:
B-God’s Peace Is Perfect In Its Completeness:
Matthew 6:26 (NLT) Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
II. NOTICE THE PRODUCERS OF PEACE:
A-This Peace Is Produced By Our Savior:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
B-This Peace Is Produced By The Spirit:
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
C-This Peace Is Produced By The Scriptures:
Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.
D. This Peace Is Produced By Our Submission:
Leviticus 26:3 “If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, Leviticus 26:6 I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land.
III. NOTICE THE PRINCIPLES OF PEACE:
A-There Is A Praise Involved In Peace:
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
B-There Is A Prayer Involved In Peace:
Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
C-There Is A Practice Involved In Peace:
Philippians 4:9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
